Partnering for Prevention

Huntley High School is undertaking extra efforts to help our students and families understand the issues and prevent the use of teen substance abuse and other risky behaviors. The school has expanded its partnership with Dawn Nendze, CADC, of Partnering for Prevention LLC, to include monthly prevention-based resources for students and families. The COVID-19 pandemic has only increased pressures on students and families, and it is important that everyone be armed with information about the risks facing teens in our society.

Partnering for Prevention Visit the Hot Topics page for anytime resources on a variety of topics regarding substance abuse, prevention, and teen behaviors.

Dawn will present a parent webinar the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on hot topics via a live zoom webinar.

Teen substance use can be a challenge to navigate. Parent Coffee is a live video call via zoom with Dawn Nendze, CADC, the districts’ contracted Substance Abuse Counselor. This resource is being made available to parents to provide another opportunity for support and an additional avenue to discus and ask questions related to substances, teen substance use, preventing use and intervening when you are concerned about use! Please join us on the third Wednesday of each month from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. as we “dive in and discuss!”
