HHS Presents Shakespeare’s Beloved Romantic Comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Students from Huntley High School are preparing for the second theatrical production of the 2021-22 season with a classic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare. This beloved romantic comedy will not only present the language of love as written by Shakespeare, but will also feature several favorite pop music pieces including “One Way or Another,” “Come On Eileen,” and “Sweet Caroline,” among others.

Multiple storylines intertwine to tell the story of the marriage of the Duke of Athens. Throw in four Athenian lovers, a group of amateur actors, some mischievous woodland fairies, music, dancing and romance, and you’ll experience Shakespeare in a way you never could have imagined.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Christine DeFrancesco, will be performed Thursday and Friday, November 18 and 19 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the District 158 Performing Arts Center at Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road.
