The Huntley High School Speech Team won the IHSA Sectional on Saturday, February 14, at Freeport High School.
HHS scored 41 points to defeat second place DeKalb by three points. This weekend the team will travel to the Peoria Civic Center to compete in the IHSA State Contest.
The following students advanced to state by placing in the top three in their events:
- Parth Patel: 1st place, Extemporaneous Speaking and 2nd place, Impromptu Speaking
- Jordan Moore and Andrianna Martinez: 1st place, Dramatic Duet Acting
- Andrianna Martinez: 3rd place, Poetry Reading
- Lexie Ziolkowski: 1st place, Original Oratory and 3rd place Informative Speaking.
