Performing Arts Center

Welcome to the Huntley Community School District 158 Performing Arts Center

It is with great excitement that we share our performance lineup for the 2019-2020 season, NEW BEGINNINGS.

Year after year, hundreds of student actors, technical crew, ensemble members, and pit band members join together with our behind the scenes teams of directors, costumers, scenic painters, and many others to bring the magic of theatre to life. We are proud to say that we strive to deliver a variety of quality theater entertainment – from musicals and the classics to comedies, dramas and mysteries – brought to life by passionate young artists, and this year will be no exception.

Our Mainstage performances, held in the Performing Arts Center, will feature an eclectic mix of classics such as the 1962 musical version of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes and William Shakespeare’s As You Like It, to familiar family favorites including The Lion King Jr., Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the Young Performer’s edition of The Wizard of Oz. We’ll also introduce you to Macaroon, an original work.

Our Spotlight shows, held in a more intimate setting at Huntley High School, will include a One Act Plays Festival, two Improv Shows, a one-night special performance of this years’ Contest Theatre production, The Disappearance of Daniel Hand, and an audience involved murder mystery dinner theatre event scheduled for June.

We are also extremely thrilled to announce the addition of a flexible, multipurpose BlackBox Theater, a new scene shop for theatrical productions, a renovated lobby and ticket booth, additional space for band and orchestra rehearsals, and other enhancements as part of the fine arts expansion project at Huntley High School. This addition and renovation will provide our students engaged in fine arts classes and extracurricular activities with state-of-the-art facilities in which to practice and showcase their talents. Detailed project plans are available to view online.

On behalf of our students and production teams, we are grateful for the commitment and support of the Board of Education members and administrators, and give special thanks to our business and community partners, and you for your support through ticket purchases, advertising and donations.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
