As we move into “IEP season” feel free to contact our department at anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns. Our staff is dedicated to providing the best services possible to all children with special needs. Please let us know how we are doing by filling out the IEP survey here or provided at your most recent meeting and returning it to your child’s case manager at your earliest convenience.
Transition Services begin when a student with a disability turns the age of 14 1/2 in Illinois. In District 158, once stduents enter 8th grade they begin receiving transition services and have a transition plan as a part of their annual IEP.
Life Instruction Guiding Huntley Transition (LIGHT) is an 18-21 transition program for students who have completed their graduation requirements, but delayed acceptance of their high school diploma.
LIGHT is a tiered program that provides an opportunity for students to work toward their desired post-secondary goals, while providing necessary training for future employment. Students are placed in quality learning experiences in a non-traditional high school setting.
Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)
