Congratulations to the 7th grade girls’ basketball team for their effort and determination last night versus Cary. Key contributors included Mia Garlin with 4 points and Maddie Lackovic with 8 points it the first game. Tessa Garcia, Lucy Fraser, and Lisa Gebhardt led the way in scoring in the second game. Great job Hawks!
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team had an exciting Thursday night, when they took on the Cary Dragons. The girls played tough defense, winning both the A and B games. Lead scorers were: Sammi Campanelli with 9 points and Jessie Ozzauto with 12 points.
Congrats to the wrestling team for wrestling tough against Cary last night. The varsity won six of the 10 matches all by pins. Pins came from Aiden Lira, Alex Napientek, Dylan Melco, Hersh Suthar, Alessio Pezzella, and Jack Coleman.
Congratulations to both the A and B Academic Teams who beat Bernotas yesterday! The B team came from behind to win in an exciting tie breaker!
Hey everyone! TONIGHT is our Valentine’s Day Dance here at HMS from 7 to 9 pm. The cost is only $5 if you wear Valentine’s colors! There will be concessions too! Hope to see you there!
Have a crush? Want to send a Valentine pop to a friend or even yourself? Crush Grams will be sold Thursday, Friday and Monday during lunch for $1.00 each and will be delivered next Tuesday. All proceeds go to Hawks Have Heart.
Hey Hawks! On Wednesday, you can purchase a special Valentine’s Day lollipop from Student Council at lunch time! These heart suckers are only 50 CENTS and will only be available on Wednesday! This is another opportunity to show your support to HMS as Student Council will be donating all proceeds to our Give Love For Life celebration at the end of the year.
Service Club: Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 12th from 2:30-3:45 in the choir room. Please check the Haiku page for additional opportunities to sell concessions, as well as to sign up to assist with the PTO fundraiser on Wednesday, February 20 between 5-8PM and to go to Feed My Starving Children on Thursday, April 28. Please see Ms. Franklin or Mrs. Vitale if you’d like to help to design and decorate the Service Club window in the LRC.
The next Spanish club meeting will be Tuesday, February 12th from 2:30 to 3:45 in room A216. We will be making Valentine’s and friendship bracelets while enjoying some snacks. All are welcome to come whether you have been to a previous meeting or not. Please let Mrs. P. know via email if you will be attending.
