Longtime Huntley 158 administrator Terry Awrey has announced his retirement at the end of the 2017-18 school year.
Awrey has served as associate superintendent for the past several years but has done almost every job in the District over the past 33 years.
Hired as a teacher in 1985, he has served as head football coach, assistant principal, principal, bus driver, summer custodian, assistant superintendent and associate superintendent.
Awrey will be replaced as associate superintendent for 6-12 education by Dr. Scott Rowe, current principal of Huntley High School.
Rowe has served as principal at HHS for the past five years and previously was principal at Marlowe Middle School. He began his career as a social studies teacher in other districts. Rowe is slated to begin the new position in the 2018-19 school year.
