With the announcement that senior Keagan Smith has committed to run at West Point, the U.S. Military Academy, the HHS Class of 2016 has now produced two NCAA Division-I Cross Country athletes.
Previously, Smith’s teammate Seth Conroy announced his commitment to run at the University of Miami (Ohio), as reported in the Northwest Herald.
“I know it’s not going to be an easy thing. I don’t have the same freedom, in the social aspect, like most colleges, but they have their own kind of fun,” Smith told the Northwest Herald. “Afterward, I have a service. I definitely don’t see that as a problem. I’ll be very honored to do that. I’m just proud to have this opportunity.”

He announced the commitment via Twitter January 18.
Smith told the paper his final choice was between Army and the University of North Carolina but that he felt good about West Point ever since the Black Knights’ coach Mike Smith as among the first recruiters to contact him over a year ago.
Congratulations to both Seth and Keagan!
