Property Tax Information
In an effort to proactively inform the community about their 2011 Property Tax Bill, the Board of Education for Consolidated School District 158 and Chief Financial Officer, Mark Altmayer provided a property tax update presentation at the Board of Education’s Regular meeting on Thursday,
April 21.
The Levy Year 2010 Property Tax Update presentation included key points, an explanation of the effects of CPI and EAV on the Tax Rate, the impact of declining assessed property values, a brief explanation of the Property Tax Extension Limit Law (PTELL), more commonly referred to as tax caps, and a matrix of potential impact by McHenry and Kane Counties.
A copy of the Levy Year 2010 Property Tax Update presentation, along with two handouts of Frequently Asked Questions, a short version specific to School District 158 and a long version collaboratively prepared by the Village of Huntley, Consolidated School District 158, the McHenry County Assessor’s Office, and the Huntley Fire District, Public Library and Park District are available below:
