Burkhalter Productions, in cooperation with Huntley Community School District 158, is thrilled to present Much Ado About Nothin’ the Musical.
Writer Holly Beardsley uses the original comedic effect in this rewritten modern musical version of Shakespeare’s classic play, Much Ado About Nothing. With a nod to Irving Berlin and the jukebox musicals of the early twentieth century, Much Ado About Nothin’ the Musical is a swinging good time, with a laugh and song to leave you whistlin’ for more.
Directed by Holly Beardsley with the assistance of student directors Emma Erturk and Emily Rubino, Much Ado About Nothin’ the Musical features a cast of nearly 60 fifth through tenth grade students acting, singing and dancing their way through this hilarious musical. The show also features lavish costumes by Janet Burkhalter, dance instruction by student choreographers Clare Bahn and Presley Blake, and vocal instruction by recent HHS graduate Dani Bahn.
Much Ado About Nothin’ the Musical will be performed for audiences on July 27-29 at 7:00 p.m. with a matinee performance on July 29 at 2PM in the Huntley District 158 Performing Arts Center located at Huntley High School. Tickets are $5 each, general seating and can be purchased at the door. Children 3 and under are free.
