Marlowe Middle School will present Holly Beardsley’s Macaroon for its fall play. Performances will be held at the District 158 Performing Arts Center at HHS at 7:00 p.m. on both Friday, November 1, and Saturday, November 2, with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday.
The play is a Scottish comedy mashup of of Macbeth and Brigadoon. It follows two American lepidopterists on a butterfly hunting trip in Scotland. Trudging through the moors, they come upon the magical village of Macaroon. Rising out of the Scottish mists for just one day every 100 years, Macaroon’s magic keeps its fine folk safe – not only from the worries of modern life, but also from the witches that made them flee in the first place…or does it?
Tickets available at d158.ticketleap.com beginning October 1.
