Huntley High School’s HOSA Future Health Professionals club will host a presentation by Dr. Riccardo Superina, a world renowned kidney, liver, intestinal transplant surgeon on Thursday, November 30, at 3:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
The free event is open to all HHS students and faculty.
Dr. Superina is the Head of Transplant Surgery at Lurie Children’s Hospital and is one of only a handful of pediatric surgeons in the United States with the depth of expertise and scope of training to perform highly specialized transplantation procedures of the intra-abdominal organs in children.
He also is Co-Director of the Siragusa Transplantation Center; Surgical Director of Kidney and Liver Transplant Programs; Robert E. Schneider Chair in Transplantation; and Professor of Surgery at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
As an academician, Dr. Superina has published more than 170 peer-reviewed publications.
