Asserting that today’s children are our future, the District 158 Education Foundation is committed to helping our students become the leaders of tomorrow.

About the Foundation

Through volunteer efforts and funding from individuals and businesses, the Education Foundation helps to inspire teaching and learning, by providing resources for innovative and creative instructional ideas that enrich and enhance the educational programs and opportunities for our students.

Established in 2003, the Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization operating independently from the Board of Education. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of business and community leaders, parents, teachers, and staff members.

Benefits

The Foundation gives District 158 schools the ability to offer opportunities and programs to students beyond those already afforded through District funding. Students benefit through the use of high quality, leading edge educational tools and programs. Teachers benefit by being able to enhance teaching experiences in their classroom. The Foundation is a powerful way for community members, businesses, and alumni to identify and fund learning experiences above and beyond those financed through tax dollars.

How You Can Help

Become a Volunteer – The Foundation Board welcomes volunteers and provides a variety of ways to get involved. You may also choose to volunteer your time for a special project or event. As events are scheduled, volunteer opportunities are posted on our webpage.

Support our Projects and Events

Attend a Foundation event or fund raiser.
Sponsor a specific project or program on our Fund-A-Need list.
Make a Donation – Your financial gift can, and will, have a lasting impact on the opportunities the District 158 Education Foundation is able to provide.

The Education Foundation encourages charitable giving by parents, individuals, alumni, and businesses. You can invest in the Education Foundation’s charitable efforts in a variety of ways:

Make a financial donation.
Request a corporate matching donation.
Make a contribution in memory of a loved one.
Organize an alumni class donation.
Honor a favorite teacher or a family member through a financial contribution.

Student Scholarship Application

The Foundation Board is pleased to announce the Student Scholarship program for 2013!

Up to five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors of Huntley High School who are planning on continuing their education. Interested students are asked to submit the completed Foundation Scholarship application form along with a statement explaining the reason for your school choice, area of study, career goals and how you plan to achieve these goals.

Applications packets are due Friday, April 5, 2013 and should be returned to the College and Career Center located near the Principal’s Office at Huntley High School.

Please Note: Candidates may be required to participate in a five-minute interview with the Education Foundation Scholarship Committee.

The Fund A Need Requests list is provided as an opportunity for individuals, local businesses, and corporate sponsors to adopt and fund innovative ideas to enrich and enhance educational opportunities and assist students in achieving academic excellence.
