Huntley has seen exponential growth in population over the last two decades, transforming from a farm town of 2,500 to a booming suburb of 25,000. Huntley Community School District 158 has in that time become a destination school district, helping to fuel growth in population, industry, and innovation.

As a K-12 district, Huntley 158 as kept pace with the large growth in its population through smart and innovative building design. The District pioneered the “campus” concept, situating its nine buildings on three campuses, now serving nearly 10,000 students and 1,400+ employees in preschool through high school.

The flagship school is Huntley High School. With enrollment nearing 3,000 students, the school in 2016 completed a $35 million, state-funded renovation and addition project giving it a physical plant rivaling that of any school in the Chicago area. Among features of the new building are a 55,000 square-foot, seven-sport Field House; “The Hub,” a 21st-Century learning resource center; new STEM Labs; and improvements to the turf football field.

Huntley has recently attracted major investments from leading corporations in the industrial, manufacturing, and healthcare industries, including Weber Grills, Centegra Health System, and Hiwin Corporation. These and other growing businesses have attracted to the area many high-skilled professionals who value education.
