Inclusive Curriculum

A review of inclusivity needs was conducted in conjunction with all Huntley 158 schools in winter 2017. The review revealed need for enhancement in the following areas:

  • Direct instruction related to anti-bullying, respect, and how to treat others.
  • Instruction on race, culture, and diversity included in the curriculum.
  • Presence of diversity and cultural representations in materials currently used in the district.

Efforts are ongoing to both create supplementary lessons directly related to diversity and inclusion, as well as to ensure inclusivity in existing curricula.
