Huntley Community School District 158 will host on March 22 and April 12 information nights for families of incoming kindergarten families for 2018-19 interested in the District’s Dual Language Program.
- Mackeben Elementary: March 22 | 7:00-8:00 p.m.
- Leggee Elementary: April 12 | 7:00-8:00 p.m.
The same information will be presented at both events, and families may attend either session regardless of which school their child will attend.
In addition, families with students entering first grade (current kindergarteners) at Chesak Elementary School in 2018-19 are invited to attend a separate information session on March 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the school.
Beginning in fall 2018, the District plans to add kindergarten dual language classrooms at each of its three kindergarten buildings, Chesak Elementary, Leggee Elementary, and Mackeben Elementary School, and two 1st-grade classrooms at Chesak Elementary. Additional classrooms will be added in coming years until reaching full implementation of a dual language structure through fifth grade.
The District currently has job openings for educators qualified to teach in a bilingual elementary environment.
