We want to provide an update on the status of the school after the burst sprinkler pipe which caused flooding issues yesterday.
The broken pipe has been completely repaired, and restoration of the affected classrooms are underway. We do not yet have a timetable on when those classrooms will be ready to inhabit again. However, crews are working quickly to assess the degree of damage and restore the classrooms to their full glory!
The classrooms will not be occupied again until they are completely safe, dry, and ready for learning. We will provide you with an update when we are ready to move students back into those classrooms.
Some very good news is that all affected classes have been accommodated in other classrooms within the building. Every class has its own classroom, and the temporary classrooms have all been outfitted with the materials, supplies, and furniture needed for learning. Most belongings and materials from the affected classrooms have been moved to the new classrooms.
Individual teachers are contacting families with information on their new room numbers. Teachers’ phone extensions will remain the same.
I want to take a moment to note how well all of our students have handled this challenge. They have acted respectfully, responsibly, and safely throughout this process. Thank you also to our staff members and families who have helped make sure our students are safe and ready to learn.
And a quick reminder: please call the main office if your student had belongings that were damaged. Our front office staff is collecting this information from families.
Thank you again, and please do not hesitate to reach out to the school or your teacher with any questions.
