On this special episode, Dr. Burkey’s last episode as co-host, we check in with leaders of the Huntley High School National Honor Society. This amazing group of students achieves not only in the classroom, but has led a number of successful community service projects making a difference in our community.
The NHS’s 280+ members sponsor several initiatives focused on serving the community each year. Notably, over the holiday season, the organization led a District-wide effort to “adopt” some 65 local families in need, gathering donations, wrapping toys, and delivering gifts.
The club, which requires a 3.5 GPA, good character, and a commitment to service, also offers free homework help for students at Leggee Elementary School, in addition to a number of other efforts.
