On this special episode of Huntley 158 Today, we talk with two-time Grammy-winning children’s singer-songwriter Bill Harley about his career, his work encouraging literacy, and the weeklong residency he held at Martin and Chesak Elementary Schools earlier this year.
As part of his visit, Harley held public performances at each school, conducted writing workshops with students, and discussed his book Charlie Bumpers vs. the Teacher of the Year, which all students at the schools read.
Harley has twice won the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for Children. His work spans the generation gap, reminds us of our common humanity and challenges us to be our very best selves.
A prolific author and recording artist, Bill tours nationwide as an author, performing artist and keynote speaker. He has released a dozen acclaimed albums, combining songs and storytelling in his signature humorous, family-friendly style. He also is the author of numerous children’s, young adult, and picture books, as well as songbooks and other books for educators.
