Huntley High School is among 11 high schools in the state selected to perform a full-length production at the upcoming Illinois High School Theatre Festival (IHSTF). The Festival will be held at Illinois State University from Thursday, January 11, to Saturday, January 13.
The school will perform The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).
Now in its 43rd consecutive year, the IHSTF is the largest and oldest non-competitive high school theatre festival in the world.
To be selected, a school must submit a performance for review by theatre educators and hold a discussion period with the reviewers, who then submit a written critique/recommendation to a selection committee which makes the final selections.
In addition to the performances, participants in the festival have the opportunity to attend several workshops, watch professional guest productions, experience an All-State production by the top student performers in the state, and connect with numerous college and university theatre programs.
