We want to pass along an update from the Huntley Police Department pertaining to their ongoing investigation into online threats that have affected Marlowe students.
Charges have been filed, as outlined in this press release from the Police Department posted at https://www.huntley.il.us/document_center/Departments/Police/News/PR11-21-17ElectronicThreatChargesFiled.pdf.
As is evident in the harsh consequences faced by those who chose to engage in this unacceptable behavior, it will not be tolerated. While we cannot control the actions individuals take outside of our school, we will continue to educate our students within it on what is unacceptable behavior, how it affects their fellow students, and why it is wrong.
While this incident has been challenging for our school, please let us remember the many wonderful things we have to be grateful for as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday.
We thank our law enforcement partners with whom we continue to work closely to ensure the safety of our school. We also thank all of our families, who have remained patient, attentive, and engaged in educating our children about the seriousness of these kinds of unacceptable behavior. And we thank all of the amazing staff members, students, and families who make this a wonderful school.
Thank you again for your support, your trust, and your partnership in keeping our students safe.
Have a wonderful holiday break!
