Huntley Goes Bald organizers have announced that the total fundraising tally for St. Baldrick’s reached $103,000. The collected funds will go to support childhood cancer research. Great job, Huntley!
Fundraising efforts at District 158 schools over the past month contributed a large sum toward the community’s nearly $100,000 total for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which is devoted to fighting childhood cancer.
Huntley High School students and staff formed numerous fundraising teams, with their efforts culminating in an assembly on Friday afternoon. That evening, the school hosted a community shaving event along with other activities and entertainment.
The community’s efforts also included a community fundraising event on Saturday at Parkside Pub in Huntley.
This year’s efforts held particularly strong meaning for the District 158 community, coming on the heels of a successful battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma by HHS junior Justin Domingo.
On Sunday, Huntley Goes Bald organizers reported total donations from the efforts were nearing $100,000, with final totals to be released soon.
Donations can still be made online at https://www.stbaldricks.org/donate/event/11656/2016.
