Huntley High School art students competed last month in the Juried Exhibition of Student Art Work in conjunction with the 75th Young Artist Show 2015. More than 1,000 works of art from 22 high schools within a 50-mile radius of Rockford were submitted to be judged, and only a select few of those were selected by the judges for the show.
Huntley High School students submitted 138 pieces (including senior portfolios containing five pieces each), of which 10 pieces were accepted.
The Young Artist Show takes place in the Gallery at the Rockford Art Museum in the Riverside Museum Park, from Sunday, March 6 through Sunday, April 3. The museum is open Monday–Saturday 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Sunday, noon–5:00 p.m. More information can be found at www.rockfordartmuseum.org.
