Advisory About Suspicious Incident in Georgian Place Neighborhood

District 158 families,

We wanted to make you aware of a suspicious incident that was reported to us.

A family in the Georgian Place neighborhood reported an incident last night involving a white 4-door sedan in which the driver asked a student walking on the sidewalk to get in the vehicle. The student acted appropriately in running to a neighbor’s house, and the incident was promptly reported to Huntley Police. The police are now investigating the incident and have added extra patrols to the area. We are working with police to assist the investigation in any way we can.

This is a good opportunity to speak with your child about the importance of good safety practices regarding strangers. We also have social workers, counselors, and psychologists available for any student who seeks additional support. In addition, our Transportation Department is aware of this incident, and bus drivers will remain vigilant when picking up and dropping off students at bus stops.

Please contact Huntley Police Department at (847) 515-5311 if you have any information or concerns regarding the incident.

Thank you.
