Keagan Smith, a senior runner on the Huntley High School Cross Country Team, and Mary Raclawski, a freshman cross country runner, have been named Buffalo Wild Wings Athletes of the Month for their exploits during the month of September.
Smith won two races, each by over 10 seconds, and led his team to a 2-0 dual meet record and a 2nd place finish at the Lake Park Invitational.
Raclawski has burst onto the Varsity Cross Country scene as a freshman and made her presence known. In her first high school meet, the Crystal Lake South Invite, she finished 11th with a 21:15 over 3.1 miles. She followed that up with a 2nd place finish in 19:01 over 2.95 miles at a home triangular meet against Cary-Grove and Crystal Lake South.
On 9/12 Mary finished 6th at the Wauconda Invitational with a time of 18:38 over 3 miles. On 9/19 Mary finished 3rd in her flight at the Ryan Byrne Invitational with a time of 19:33 on a tough course at Emricson Park.
Congratulations to both of these outstanding student athletes!
