• Bands at HHS
are structured around 3 principles:

Ensemble music classes
should balance student’s enjoyment of making music with their
meaningful development as musicians and as people.
Both can and should be achieved.

The students’
experience in any music ensemble improves as the performance quality of the
ensemble improves.

The value of any
experience to students improves as they take more responsibility for
their development and more ownership of their achievement.
